IT WAS fascinators at dawn as the fillies filed in for the final day of Royal Ascot.
While the weather might be frightful the ladies were certainly delightful in an array of brightly coloured ensembles at the East Berkshire event.
And it seems that it was the bigger the better today with women arriving with sky-high millinery creations, decorated with everything from feathers to flowers.
Leading the glam squad was Charlotte Hawkins who looked stunning in a simple cream ensemble and matching fascinator.
Meanwhile a group of well-heeled spectators made sure they were camera ready in an array of yellow ensembles as they posed for a selfie.
Others had their feathers ruffled (literally) as a strong breeze left a few hats looking a little windswept.
And one leggy attendee turned heads with her super side split in a classy monochrome number.
As in previous years, guests have to adhere to a strict Royal Ascot dress code, which varies depending on which area you are in.
If you’re lucky enough to be in the royal enclosure, ladies are asked to wear “modest” dresses or skirts which finish just above the knee or longer.
Meanwhile, dresses or tops must have a strap of one inch or wider (strapless, off-the-shoulder and spaghetti straps are banned).
Hats or fascinators are compulsory, with a base of four inches or more.
If you’re in the cheaper Queen Anne Enclosure, ladies can get away with fascinators and slightly shorter dresses.
And racegoers were in for a royally good treat today as the Queen arrived for the final day of the prestigious racing event.
Her Majesty is a regular at the royal meet but has been a no-show since the action started on Tuesday with Prince Charles and Camilla so far undertaking the Royal duties.
